June 3, 2025, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE): Canadian University Dubai (CUD) is proud to announce that a team of Mechatronics Engineering students has claimed 3rd place at the 19th IEEE UAE Student Day Engineering Design Project Competition, a prestigious event celebrating the brightest emerging engineering talent across the nation.
Hosted by Dubai University, the competition brought together innovative projects from universities across the UAE. CUD’s team impressed the judges with a standout design that combined technical precision with creative, real-world problem-solving.
The winning team, Farha Mohammed, Sebastian Kirk Uy, Jayrag Rosick, and Aya Abbas, was guided by the mentorship of Dr. Salih Rashid Majeed. Their success highlights the strength of CUD’s Mechatronics program in cultivating future-ready engineers equipped to meet today’s challenges with ingenuity and skill.
