Leading international experts gathered to discuss the latest trends and advances in Mathematics

July 3rd, 2024, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE): Canadian University Dubai (CUD), in collaboration with the National Institute of Technology - Jalandhar, recently hosted the International Symposium on Advances in Mathematical Sciences (ISAMS) 2024. The event's organizing committee was chaired by CUD’s School of Engineering, Applied Science, and Technology professors, Dr. Firuz Kamalov, Associate Professor of Mathematics, with key contributions from Dr. Salah Eddine Choutri, Assistant Professor and Dr. Ahmed El Sayed, Assistant Professor.

The symposium brought together leading mathematical experts from around the world to discuss a range of topics, including pure and applied mathematics, mathematical physics, mathematics education, and statistical theory. In addition, mathematics education was a significant theme in the conference with research findings from South Africa discussing the latest innovation in delivering mathematics curricula in high schools. With participants from 15 countries, the event offered a rich intellectual experience emphasizing its international significance.

The symposium received 130 paper submissions, of which 30 were selected for presentation, along with 70 abstract presentations. All accepted full papers were published in the Gulf Journal of Mathematics (Scopus).

Keynote addresses by Dr. Farrukh Mukhamedov, Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at UAE University and Dr. Lamberto Rondoni, Professor at Politecnico di Torino provided valuable insights on functional analysis, its applications, and differential equations and their applications, respectively.

Speaking about the success of the event, Dr. Firuz Kamalov remarked that ISAMS 2024 was a resounding success, bringing together brilliant minds from around the world to share and discuss groundbreaking research in mathematics. The event not only showcased CUD’s reputation as a research and excellence hub but also highlighted our commitment to supporting high-quality research.
