November 23rd, 2018, CUD Red Theatre: A Grand Gala Concert featuring the U.A.E Philharmonic Orchestra and Dubai EnSENble, the U.A.E’s first choir for determined ones, together with guest choirs and musicians was held in front of a very appreciative audience.
The concert was the choir’s second appearance accompanied by the Orchestra, both conducted by Mr. Rivaan Mager, Music Coordinator for CUD. It was staged to provide the Determined Ones with the opportunity to showcase their talents and teach them about teamwork and perseverance. The concert also provided an opportunity for those with a special talent to learn about vocal training and musical movement as well as allowing them to appreciate the beauty of classical music.

Next came two finalists from “Which School Advisor Musician of the Year,” Rafael Mary on piano and the competition winner Shoko Umezawa on violin.
Victory Heights Primary School Choir conducted by Ms.Joy Santos then took the stage to perform two songs. They were followed by the Dubai College Chamber Choir, winners of Choir Fest Middle East 2018, conducted by Ms. Jennie-Lee Foster and accompanied on piano by Mr. Alan Crawford.

The Finale saw Victory Heights Primary School Choir and Dubai College Chamber Choir return to the stage to join the Dubai EnSENble performing “Music is my Life” by Eugene Butler and “Africa” by Toto.
The audience of over 180 parents, friends and guests were privileged to witnessa vast array of musical and choral talent and our thanks go to Mr. Rivaan and Mr. Dusan, CUD Sports Coordinator for assembling such a varied program.
This event is the beginning of a series of musical events being planned over the course of the next few months.
