CUD Observes Commemoration Day

November 29th, 2018: Members of the CUD family consisting of staff, students and faculty assembled at the front of the University to mark UAE Commemoration Day.

Commemoration Day recognizes the sacrifices and dedication of Emirati martyrs and honours those who have given their lives in the UAE and abroad in the field of civil, military and humanitarian service. It also serves to remind the families of those who have been martyred that the UAE has not forgotten them or their sacrifice.

This year, Commemoration Day is being observed across the UAE on November 29th, followed by an extended weekend celebrating the UAE National Day.

At 8am, the UAE flag was lowered at half-mast across the country. This was followed by a one minute's silence and supplication at 11.30 am. The UAE flag was then raised while the UAE National Anthem was played.

A large turnout of CUD employees and students was proud to have been involved in this emotional but inspiring event.
