CUD Showcases Award-Winning Engineering Innovations at Dubai Knowledge Summit 2025

November 19, 2025, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE): Canadian University Dubai (CUD) made a noteworthy impact at the Dubai Knowledge Summit 2025, where the School of Engineering’s interactive booth attracted exceptional interest from visitors, industry leaders and event organizers across the two-day gathering.

The booth served as a platform for students and faculty to present cutting-edge, sustainability-driven engineering solutions developed within the university’s Power & Renewable Energy Engineering and Mechatronics programs. Throughout the summit, members of the organizing committee and several distinguished guests spent extended time engaging with the CUD team and exploring the showcased projects.

Among the notable visitors was the Minister of Education from a neighboring country, who dedicated nearly half an hour learning about two standout innovations, a campus-designed Vertical Wind Turbine and an advanced Smart Farming System for vertical agriculture, expressing strong interest in their potential applications. The booth also welcomed well-known broadcaster Hekmat Fahmy and the Head of the Knowledge Summit, Mr. Saif Al Mansoori, alongside many other prominent attendees.

In recognition of the School of Engineering’s impactful, student-led innovations, Associate Professor Dr. Khaled Goher and a CUD student were invited for a live broadcast segment with Noor Dubai and the summit’s media team, further elevating the visibility of CUD’s engineering programs and reinforcing the university’s growing contribution to future-focused, sustainability-centered solutions in the UAE.

“We are proud to share that the School of Engineering at Canadian University Dubai has received an award at the Dubai Knowledge Summit 2025,” said Dr. Khaled Goher, Associate Professor of Mechatronics. “This recognition highlights two innovative student–faculty projects that reflect CUD’s commitment to sustainability and real-world engineering education. Students had the opportunity to showcase their practical, hands-on work and demonstrate the impact of applied engineering on future sustainability. This achievement reinforces CUD’s mission to empower students to innovate and contribute to the UAE’s evolving knowledge economy.”

The School of Engineering continues to strengthen its industry presence through experiential learning, research-driven projects and collaborative engagements that prepare students for evolving global challenges.
