April 30th, 2018: Abdelrahim Lakehal, System Analyst – Digital Solutions, introduced students from MCM 320 A-1 Computerized Media Archiving to the concept of digital archiving and enterprise content management.
InfoFort UAE and CUD recently signed an MOU allowing students to receive hands-on training that will help them develop their technical and business skills through mentorship from InfoFort’s senior executives.
Organized by Dr. Wided Dafri, Assistant Professor, Department of Communication, the event was arranged as part of this agreement.
The interactive workshop introduced students to the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS, ECM), which facilitates the upload of a document to a digital repository and chooses a destination and indexing scheme.
Students were shown how to retrieve documents from the EDMS by using different combinations of metadata utilizing the “envision system,” an InfoFort product.
A demonstration of the approval workflow familiarized the students with the concept of business process automation.
Students learned that the proper storage of evidence serves as the memory of an organization and preserves the rights of individuals. They discussed the importance of digital transformation and how ECM software plays a major role in helping organizations achieve an environmentally friendly, efficient and digitally transformed business culture.
