Gaming Club hosts League of Legends Qualifiers

October 20th, 2018: Players from all over Dubai gathered on campus to compete one-on-one in the popular MOBA game “League of Legends” in an attempt to reach the finals. Hosted by Red Bull as their 3rd solo tournament “Red Bull Player One”, the tournament seeks to bring together players from all over the United Arab Emirates in a bid to promote gaming culture.

CUD was happy to be able to host the Tournament’s final offline qualifiers on campus, thanks to the initiative taken by the Gaming Club, who managed to acquire the necessary hardware and set up everything in a single week, a tribute to their sense of teamwork.

Gaming Club president Nadine Audi commented saying “this experience really taught us a lot about teamwork and leadership. No one was stepping on anyone’s toes, and everyone was pulling their weight, which really did wonders to show the strength of our club.”

According to Gaming Club vice president Hemanth Kumar, “the people came to participate, but they left feeling like they were at home. They didn’t feel pressure, and were able to cut loose and play. By the end of the event, people wanted to come back and be involved with CUD, which really shows how great the atmosphere here is.”

By the end of the tournament, Mohamad Obaidat had walked away as the winner of the qualifier. As a little gift, he received an AED 550 gift voucher to Virgin Megastore from the Gaming Club, and we wish him the best of luck on his upcoming matches.
