Leading UAE Employer visits CUD

January 22nd, 2019: Representatives from Majid Al Futtaim have been on campus at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) to engage with students and outline the history, values and future plans of the Company. They were represented by Ms.Fatma Farooq Altamime, Talent Acquisition Executive, Human Capital; and Ms. Mary Kaddah, Senior Manager of Graduate Recruiting & Onboarding.

Majid Al Futtaim is one of the largest employers in the region, tapping into a diverse range of sectors, including retail, leisure, properties, consumer properties, and hospitality. During the presentation, Ms. Fatma and Ms. Mary shared details of the Majid Al Futtaim ‘Tomouhi’ initiative, an 18 Month Graduate Program, available to graduating students from CUD.

Selected students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the activities of three departments within Majid Al Futtaim, while working with experts in the relevant sectors. Upon completion, and based on performance, students may receive up to three offer letters, one from each of the departments in which they have been involved.

The application process requires students to submit their CV together with an engaging video. Interviews with shortlisted student candidates will take place in March 2019 and those accepted will begin the Program in September 2019. This is an exceptional opportunity for students to gain valuable skills and jump-start their careers. The Program is extremely competitive; last year, from all the applications received, 75 students were shortlisted from which 30 offers to participate were issued.

The visit was organized by Ms. Naoise Lane, CUD’s Career Services & Internship Coordinator and was of particular interest to students in their 3rd and 4th years. Ms. Naoise said she was grateful to Majid Al Futtaim for taking the time to visit the University and confirmed that this would be the first of many exciting and engaging events hosted by CUD Career Services throughout the year. She also announced that Majid Al Futtaim would again visit the campus on April 10th, when CUD would be hosting its Annual Career Fair.

Speaking on behalf of Majid Al Futtaim, Ms. Fatma expressed her thanks to CUD Career Services for organizing and hosting the event and encouraged students to take full advantage of the opportunities the Graduate Program has to offer.
