October 29th, 2018: A record number of the top Universities and Colleges in Canada visited Hall C of CUD and spoke to prospective students from Dubai interested in pursuing degree programs in Canada.
Under the banner of “EduCanada Fairs” a total of 25 institutions were in attendance as part of a tour to the UAE.
Over 150 visitors composed mainly of Senior High School and current university students, together with their parents, attended to find out what was on offer in Canada.
Opening the event was Her Excellency Ms. Marcy Grossman, Consul General of Canada to the UAE, who cut the opening ribbon and addressed the assembly.
In her remarks she referred to the link between Canada and the UAE both nationally and in the field of education. She congratulated those institutions present for their participation and their willingness to reach outside their own country to promote Canadian education, hoping their visit would be beneficial. She assured prospective students of a warm welcome in Canada, one of the most inclusive countries in the world.
Our own Dr. Julie Beeton, Assistant Professor and Canadian Immigration Lawyer was on hand to give professional advice on immigrating to Canada and answer questions from parents and students.
This is the second such event held in CUD in the past few years and those institutions attending expressed their gratitude to the university for hosting the fair, hoping that this would become an annual occasion.
The Fairs Tour now moves on to Najah Careers Fair, held in Abu Dhabi on October 31st and November 1st and 2nd.
