The role of data in decision making: Guest Speaker Priyanka De Noronha speaks to CUD MBA students as part of Faculty of Management Speaker Series

Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021: Priyanka De Noronha, Johnson & Johnson Canada, participated in the Faculty of Management’s Speaker Series as a guest speaker during Professor Davide Contu MBA643 Business Research Methods class. The topic of discussion was around the use of data for decision making.

Priyanka joined Johnson & Johnson after multi-disciplinary experiences across industries including automotive and telecom. At J&J, she has a breadth of experience - from a role in the Insights & Strategy team where she used data to inspire action, to a brand management role in the baby care business. Currently, she is the Marketing Lead for J&J’s Medical Device reprocessing business in Canada.

Priyanka holds a Bachelors in Biotechnology and Master’s degrees from IIM Shillong and University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management. During the class, students had the opportunity to discuss topics such as the importance of data literacy as a foundational skill; the role of ensuring real insights in decision making, the role played by connecting insights and ideas, as well as the central role played by communication and storytelling with data.
