March 20th, 2018: President of Ryerson University, Dr. Mohamed Lachemi, paid a visit to CUD to further consolidate our relationship with Ryerson for our new Bachelor of Arts in Creative Industries program.
During his visit, he met with various individuals and organizations, including Mr. Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, University Chancellor; President, Dr. Karim Chelli, and the Senior Management Team. He also met and H.E. Masud Husain, Canadian Ambassador to the UAE.
He visited the Dubai Technology & Entrepreneur Centre (Dtec), an innovation hub with which CUD hopes to establish an ongoing collaboration and met with the Chairman and Senior Staff from GEMS Education, with which CUD has just signed an ambitious and lucrative MOU.
Dr. Lachemi visited Hall B, which is designated as CUD’s new Learning Incubator and will work in conjunction with Ryerson’s Digital Media Zone (DMZ). The incubator will provide innovative, entrepreneurial and creative CUD students with guidance and mentorship to help them develop their business ideas, allowing CUD to become a catalyst for the establishment of an eco-system of student-run startups.
Ryerson’s DMZ has recently been ranked among the top university-based incubator in the world.
In an address to faculty and students, Dr. Lachemi spoke about Ryerson University and the transfer opportunities available to students from CUD. He said he looked forward to the continuous benefits that both institutions will gain from our collaboration.
