Students from the Department of Architecture Present Graduation Projects

May 17th, 2018: Graduating students from the Department of Architecture supervised by Dr. Hamoud, Dr. Hazim, Dr.Eyyad and Dr. Constantin presented their final projects to a jury of external examiners. These projects reflected the culmination of five years’ study for senior students in the department.

The projects represented the integration of the personal and individual professional positions of students and the real-life needs of society. Students were required to identify a societal need, elaborate its spatial requirements and develop creative design solutions to meet that need. The projects covered a range of topics serving a wide cross-section of society.

Along with members of CUD’s faculty, individuals from academia and private industry were assigned to judge different sections. The response from the external examiners was very positive. They were impressed with the scope and the standard of the submitted work.

The most noteworthy presentations included “Elderly Living” by Alexander Gomez, “DORSA Center of Space Science,” by Alrifai, Kinan Mhd Mohieeddin and “Affordable Housing Urban Redevelopment in Satwa” by Abdulhameed, Izz Faiz.
