September 22nd, 2019: As part of the course learning outcome, students from Management of Domestic and Hazardous Wastes Class (ENV 407) visited Dubai Municipality's Hazardous Waste Treatment Facility in Jebel Ali, accompanied by Dr. Rashed Karkain. This visit expanded the horizon of understanding and the importance of proper segregation of hazardous and Medical Wastes, safe transportation and technological innovations in effective and efficient treatment of such as well as environmentally sound disposal. The visit further educated students on the importance of implementation of an Integrated Waste Management System towards protecting the environment and achieving objectives of Climate Change in line with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
