Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Canadian University Dubai (CUD) and the GEMS Education yields a success story for Ms. Gayatri Nair, as her higher education pathway was facilitated by the GEMS-CUD Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU provides a seamless transfer process for students who wish to continue higher education. Both institutions believe in the inherent nature of ‘seeing the genius’ in each learner.
Speaking about her opportunity to study at CUD, Ms. Gayatri Nair, shares her experience as a transfer student from GEMS to CUD in 2018: “During a Career Fair in 2017 held at my school, GEMS, CUD made an appearance and provided me with the information about the GEMS-CUD partnership, which has assisted me in achieving my goals thus far. I began my schooling career at GEMS in 2004 in kindergarten. My transition to CUD to study my BBA Marketing proved to be a rewarding experience as it facilitated my growth, both professionally and personally. My career journey has been shaped by this opportunity, eventually leading me to be employed as a faculty member at CUD. The GEMS-CUD partnership has certainly accelerated my progress.”
Ms. Gayatri Nair, Teaching Assistant in the Department of Creative Industries; Canadian University Dubai, went on to share that: “Under the guidance of my professors at CUD, I was able to discover my true potential and identify the necessary steps to pursue my career path. My professors have now turned into my colleagues, and their significant roles in my professional growth continues. During my time as a student at CUD, two of my courses in Entrepreneurship were led by Professor Naveed Yasin, who recognized my efforts and interests; and Professor Farooq Haq, my mentor and advisor, who provided me with the necessary support to select the appropriate courses for my future. Learning is constant, and my growth thus far aligns to my vision. CUD is a wonderful place to begin my career.”
Both CUD and GEMS are committed to promote the quality of education in the Middle Eastern region, enhancing student mobility. The MoU is a significant step in achieving the mutual goals through the collaboration, to simplify the process for students to transfer to higher education. The transfer process also supports the student to reduce the cost associated with completing a degree program. “Being awarded a student scholarship for my academic pursuit at CUD proved to be exceptionally beneficial to my journey.” Ms. Gayatri Nair; Teaching Assistant in the Department of Creative Industries; Canadian University Dubai
The entirety of the MoU collaboration enhances the quality of education and provides students with dynamic learning experiences. The agreement builds on long-standing ties between CUD and GEMS to promote academic cooperation and student mobility – a significant development for continuing education within the Middle Eastern region, enhancing the learner’s experience to achieve academic and career goals.
Additionally, one can start studying in Dubai at the Canadian University Dubai and subsequently pursue studies in Canada, through one of the well-established global collaborations.
