  • Do you accept the GED?

    GED is not acceptable for accredited programs.

  • Do I need to take the International TOEFL/IELTS

    In order to ensure the highest academic standards, we require all students to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score. For undergraduate students a TOEFL 500 (PBT), 61 (IBT), 173 (CBT), or IELTS 5.0 is required for entry into accredited Bachelor programs. Students who test below the required level will be placed in our English for Academic Purposes program until they have achieved the minimum program entry requirements. They will however be permitted to undertakes a limited number of general courses on their degree course at the discretion of their advisor.

  • Do I need letters of recommendation? If so, how many letters of recommendation do I need?

    Letters of recommendation are not mandatory.

  • Do I need a GMAT?

    Applicants are not required to submit a GMAT score.

  • Do I have to travel to Dubai for the Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI’s)?

    No, for international students, we are able to conduct these interviews online.

  • Can I visit the school before I commit to applying?

    You are welcome to visit the University during our normal hours, we are open Sunday - Thursday 9:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday 10:00am to 3:00pm. We also run Open House from time to time. Please refer to our website or the local press for details. We remain closed for most major holidays.

  • Can I transfer my credits from CUD to a university in Canada or internationally?

    We have articulation agreements with many Canadian and International universities. The current list is on our website. Alternatively you can apply directly to the University of your choice and credits from CUD will be accepted provided they match with the program you are applying for and your grades and equivalents match

  • Can I transfer credits from an MBA that I did online from an accredited institution?

    Credits will only be accepted from Institutions and Courses approved by the Ministry of Education - Higher Education Affairs. Details can be found on their website MOHESR

  • Can I Take a mix of Weekend and weekday classes for the MBA?

    You must choose at the start of the Course which option you want and then keep with that pattern until the course is finished.

  • Can I leave the school at lunch time?

    Yes you are free to leave. The only restrictions on your time are attendance at lectures and Professors.

  • Can I join the course in the middle of the academic year?

    No, you must join the Course at the beginning of the Semester. In exceptional circumstances we will accept late entries. We have three start dates during the year, Fall, Spring and Summer. Dates are published on the website.

  • Can I gain admission to the University if I do not reach the required admission standard?

    An applicant who does not meet the minimum requirements for a specific program may be admitted to the University on probation. Students admitted in this category are considered to be on probationary admission..

  • Can an MBA student choose the courses? Or are they forced depending on what is available?

    Yes, students can choose from the offered courses based off of their study plan.

  • As a transfer student do I need to do TOEFL?

    Once you enter CUD if the TOEFL test is more than two years old you will need to re-sit it. If you enter CUD with a valid TOEFL it will be sufficient to complete your Course

  • Are there any extra-curricular activities which I can join?

    We have a full course of extra-curricular activities ranging from sport, drama, music, trips, charity work, International day and if we don’t have what you’re looking for we can help you to organise something else.

  • Are scholarships/bursaries available every semester?

    Scholarships are awarded at the beginning of the academic year (Fall semester). You can apply for scholarships for Academic Excellence, Academic Achievement, Financial hardship, Sports Excellence and discretionary

  • After I finish my Masters at CUD can I do PhD in Canada?

    MBA in the Canadian University Dubai is recognized worldwide and will be accepted by Universities in Canada which offer the same disciplines as your Masters course. You will need to apply to these Universities directly and ascertain their entry requirements.

  • If I graduated from an English speaking High School, do I need to submit a TOEFL/IELTS?

    Yes, a TOEFL score of 500 is required for entry into the program (550 for MBA), or IELTS 5.0 or (6.0 MBA).

  • How much must I pay for a deposit on residence and when is it due?

    Full payment of residence fees is due at the beginning of the semester.

  • I want to transfer into one of the undergraduate programs at CUD. Will all of my credits transfer?

    Transfer of credits is subject to evaluation by the Chair of the programme. The original institution must be accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education. Students must provide CUD with official transcripts and course descriptions, and have a minimum GPA of 2.0.

  • Can the University arrange this for me?

    Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to. There are many reputable banks in the vacinity of Canadian University Dubai that may be able to assist you.
