July 25th, 2023, Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) congratulates Bhaanvi Rai for receiving the esteemed Sir Howard Douglas Award from the University of New Brunswick (UNB), in Canada. Bhaanvi’s educational pursuit began in India and later led her to join CUD in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.). Subsequently, she successfully completed her first year of university education in 2020 at CUD’s School of Management, studying BBA in Accounting and Finance and the credits were transferred to her bachelor’s degree program at the UNB.

July 8th – 10th, 2023, City Walk, Dubai, UAE: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) hosted its first 3-day Summer Camp at its expanded campus in City Walk. The Summer Camp was exclusively designed for high school students, aligning with CUD’s commitment to driving education within the community. The Summer Camp offered an interactive learning setting, facilitating six practical workshops for the students to actively participate in.

July 5th, 2023, Dubai UAE: Students at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) have been discovering the rich history and culture of Canada as part of an immersive program of activities to explore the country’s lifestyle and heritage. Led by Ms. Sanaz Sotoudeh, CUD’s resident international concert pianist and lecturer, performances from Canadian artists complement in-curriculum classes, to broaden students’ cultural perspectives and prepare them for future life and work in Canada.

June 26th, 2023, Dubai, UAE: An initiative led by students at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) is promoting a culture of happiness and positivity on campus, through a range of weekly activities that aim to inspire self-awareness, personal reflection, and mental and physical well-being. Led by the university’s student Wellness Society, the Wellness Wednesdays program encourages participants to focus on self-care amid the growing pressures young people are facing in daily life.

June 16th, 2023, Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Canadian University Dubai's (CUD) School of Engineering, Applied Science, and Technology; had the honour of co-hosting the International Online Conference, in collaboration with Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar in India. This online conference, titled ‘Emerging Trends in Energy Systems and Applications: Modelling, Simulation, and Optimization of Energy Systems (MSOES) 2023’, took place June 17th to 18th, 2023.

Canadian University Dubai's (CUD) Faculty of Management recently organized two student educational tours. These exclusive and informative tours took CUD’s students to two prestigious and well-renowned hotels in Dubai, namely the La Ville Hotel and Suites located in City Walk, and the Palazzo Versace. Through these tours, CUD’s students were given a unique opportunity to explore the practical side of the business world and apply the theories they learned during class.

Dubai, March 16th, 2023: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) organized and hosted the annual 'Industry Career Fair & Networking Event', which welcomed over 30 national and international organizations. The event's primary objective was to facilitate meaningful interactions and exchanges between CUD’s students, graduates and potential employers. The fair showcased various employment, part-time work, and internship opportunities available to both current students and graduates.

March 14th, 2023, Dubai, UAE: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has graduated the Class of 2022 at its 12th convocation staged at the iconic Dubai Opera. Held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, Cabinet Member and UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, the ceremony celebrated the talent and achievements of the next generation of CUD alumni, under the banner ‘The Future Pioneers Leading the Way’.

March 10th, 2023, Dubai, UAE: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) student, Nafisa Saeed, is among the winners of the international LIV Hospitality Design Awards 2022, announced recently in Switzerland. Her design entitled, ‘Nostalgia - Healing Your Inner Child’, aims to support adults’ restoration and relaxation through childhood nostalgia, and won the award in the Wellness category of the annual interior design competition. Nafisa was one of three CUD students recognized in the contest, among hundreds of entrants from both education and industry.

22 February 2023, Dubai, UAE: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has hosted the 8th General Assembly of the Silk-Road Universities Network (SUN), bringing together delegates from international institutions to debate the theme, ‘The Role of Higher Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data: Challenges and Opportunities’.

February 20th, 2023, Dubai, UAE: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has hosted renowned Italian sculptor, Lorenzo Quinn, in an exclusive conversation charting his evolution from film actor to figurative artist. Discussing his creative process, his commitment to sustainability, and his desire to connect people through art, Quinn revealed the challenges he faced as the son of an Oscar-winning Hollywood actor, and how he went on to make a name for himself as a globally celebrated sculptor. The event was staged in the presence of the Consul General of Italy, Francesca Dell'Apa, and the Consul General of the Netherlands, Carel Richter.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Canadian University Dubai (CUD) and the GEMS Education yields a success story for Ms. Gayatri Nair, as her higher education pathway was facilitated by the GEMS-CUD Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU provides a seamless transfer process for students who wish to continue higher education. Both institutions believe in the inherent nature of ‘seeing the genius’ in each learner.

January 22nd, 2023, Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Institute, Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Student Branch from the Faculty of Engineering, Applied Science and Technology (FEAST) at the Canadian University Dubai (CUD), became certified judges for the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation. Several IEEE students acquired the certifications through an exam from REC Foundation, which further enhances the students’ personal and technical skills and portfolios.

Mannheim, Germany, November 20th – 27th, 2022: The Duale Hochschule Baden Württemberg (DHBW) in Mannheim, Germany, in partnership with Canadian University Dubai (CUD), Dubai, United Arab Emirates, sponsored by the Baden-Wuerttemberg Trust – collaborate to advance student exchanges through the International Logistics Projects (ILP). The exchanges promote and advance the integrated academic studies within industrial workplace programs, inclusive of the ILP initiatives, and have taken place over five phases since 2019. Recently, a team of CUD students, together with professors, visited Germany.

January 21st, 2023, Dubai, UAE: The Canadian University Dubai (CUD) Department of Communication and Media has collaborated with Ivy League institution, Harvard University, to stage a regional youth congress tasked with tackling some of the biggest global challenges. The Harvard Model Congress Middle East (HMCME) was convened at CUD and assembled over 100 high school students with teams representing eight institutions across the GCC.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 28th, 2023: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) and the University of New Brunswick (UNB) at New Brunswick, Fredericton campus (UNBF), Canada, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which opens a new pathway for Engineering students to transfer their studies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Canada.
