April 03, 2020: MESSAGE FROM THE CHANCELLOR & THE PRESIDENT
WORK FROM HOME – EXTENSION
Dear CUD Community,
The pressure of handling this unprecedented situation has been challenging for all of us. Each day we wake-up hoping and praying that everyone is safe and in good health. Today we are proud of all of you, the way we all came together in this challenging time to serve our students and work very hard towards their success. We are very proud of the way we stayed in confinement to defeat and exterminate this pandemic so we can come back safe and healthy to our way of living.
We have already sacrificed a lot to overthrow this pandemic and we need to continue to remain strong and united, and so we reach out at this time to advise you that we will extend our two-week campus closure for the time being. This is based on our adherence with the national directives to remain closed and distant for our safety and the safety of our community. As such, the University will remain closed to students, faculty and staff. This continues to mean that your presence and all organized public and internal events/gatherings on campus is strictly forbidden until further notice. Faculty shall continue to conduct classes online and we will continue to operate in a virtual setting until directed by the Ministry of Education to re-open the campus.
In light of this news and as our second week of campus closure comes to an end, we want to thank you again for your continued patience, resilience and hard work in adjusting to this difficult situation. We remind you of our earlier message alluding to the potential for increased challenge with isolation, and we ask again that you consider your wellness.
We are occupied with so much while trying to work, care for ourselves, and for those who rely on us. We understand that this time may come with additional pressures. Please know, we are here to help if we can. We encourage you to stay connected to the University community through our available methods, and we will provide updates as soon as we have them.
Thank you again, and we wish you continued good health and safety.
