CUD FOM Speaker Series: Information System and Control Audit

Friday, April 9, 2021: The Faculty of Management hosted a webinar on 'information system and control audit' featuring Mr. Abdul Jaleel, experienced Information Security Management Executive and Information Systems Auditing Specialist.

Overseen by Dr. Nasser Taleb, Associate Professor, Canadian University Dubai, students were provided with an overview of practical methodology and approaches to auditing within different corporate environments.

Dr. Taleb said: "Information system and control audit enables students to understand the strengths and maximum advantages of the practices and techniques that may be used in a work environment. Additionally, it scratches and clarifies the grey areas, and answers the question ‘when to do what?’"

Mr. Jaleel shared insights on how information technology (IT) auditors can transform into trusted advisors and influence enhancement of technology governance, operational, and internal controls. He also discussed the influence of the latest Industrial Revolution 4.0 technologies on internal auditing, as well as information on certifications and career prospects available for those aspiring to build a career in internal auditing and IT auditing.

Mr. Jaleel carries 20+ years of experience delivering business values through information technology and information security practices as well as expertise in information security management (ISM), strategy and frameworks, vulnerability assessments and penetration testing (VAPT), IT service management (ITSM), and information systems auditing. His experience spans across retail, banking, utility an energy, and public service business verticals. He holds an MBA, along with technical credentials including artificial intelligence (MIT/Sloan), CGEIT, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, ITIL, etc.
