April 23rd, 2018: Students from the American School of Creative Science took part in an exciting interior design competition where participants had to design a unique piece of furniture using only recycled cardboard.

April 19th, 2018: Under the supervision of Dr. Firuz Kamalov, a team of three Network Engineering students has recently qualified for the third round of the prestigious Undergraduate Student Research Competition in Abu Dhabi.

April 17th, 2018: As part of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry initiative, “Give and Gain” week, over 100 CUD students benefitted from the advice of industry experts on how to succeed in the job search process.

April 16th, 2018: Canadian University Dubai welcomed Mr. Nathan Tek, a regional spokesperson for the US State Department, who facilitated a conversation on "Strategic Communications."

March 13th, 2018: In celebration of its 70th anniversary, and to coincide with International Women’s day on March 8th, the Parisian maison launched Dior’s first mentorship programme: ‘Women@Dior’.

At this year’s Career Fair, 21 international organizations spoke to students in years 3 and 4 about job opportunities and internships in specific industries and fields. These companies included KPMG, Standard Chartered Bank, Bosch, FedEx, Hilton, RSP, Brewer Smith Brewer Group, Audi, Volkswagen and PwC’s Academy.

Ms. Elisabetta Lampedecchia introduced the first event in a series of panel discussions devoted to exploring the elements of starting a business. The panels include industry experts and their discussions will be shared on YouTube and broadcasted as a podcast.

March 26th, 2018: The Senior Executive Team from Trent University paid CUD a visit to explore collaboration opportunities between the two Universities. The goal was to establish communication arrangements and a Memorandum of Understanding.

The results of the Imaginarium Design Competition were announced at an awards ceremony attended by Mr. Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, University Chancellor, Dr. Karim Chelli, President and Vice Chancellor of the University, faculty and students.

Delegates from the Faculty of Communication, Arts and Sciences visited the Dtec innovation hub for an event hosted by Daniel Silvestre Dos Reis, Senior Manager – Portfolio Dtec, and Leticia Cobas Escuris, Executive – Community Events Dtec.

The CUD Robotics Club organized its second annual Robotics Competition with great success. The event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Sherif Moussa, Head of the Department of Engineering. A total of ten schools registered for the competition.

Organized by the Faculty of Communication, Arts and Sciences, a workshop to improve academic writing skills was held for faculty, staff and students.

As part of the (ENV 407) Management of Domestic and Hazardous Waste, students from the course visited Dubai Municipality’s Hazardous and Medical Waste Treatment Facility accompanied by Engr. Rashed Karkain.

CUD’s men’s football and volleyball teams both made it on the podium at the DMC Sports Day event, but missed the top spot. The teams brought home silver and bronze respectively, and valuable experience for next year. Eight teams took part in both sports.
