CUD Alumnus represents UAE at 85th General Assembly of IEC Monday, October 25, 2021: Engineer Mohammed Hasan, Canadian University Dubai (CUD) alumnus, was one of four national participants selected to represent the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of the Young Professional’s Program at the 85th General Assembly of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) that occurred Oct. 3 – 7, 2021 at Dubai World Trade Centre. He successfully won the Asia and the Middle East seat and will be working with the IEC this year.
CUD study reveals muted market response to COVID-19 vaccine announcements Sunday, October 24, 2021: A study conducted by graduate students at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has revealed a muted response from the stock markets following the historic announcements on the COVID-19 vaccine programs in late 2020. The research found that, despite months of economic turmoil, the news that the world had been waiting to hear prompted some growth in both US and UK markets, but there was no indication of the dramatic surge that might signal confidence in the future outlook.
CUD Student and UAE paracycling coach sets sights on Paris 2024 Tuesday, October 12, 2021: Following an historic first outing at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games, Emirati paracycling coach, Mohammed Al Murawwi Al Blooshi, says he has already set his sights on Paris 2024. As he begins preparing his team for the all-important qualifying events, Mohammed has another milestone to pursue before the next games, as he aims to be among the first graduates of the Canadian University Dubai (CUD) sports management degree program.
New MBA students welcomed as part of MBA orientation session Sunday, September 19, 2021: New MBA students were welcomed as part of the MBA orientation session hosted at City Walk campus, Canadian University Dubai (CUD). The students had the chance to meet fellow colleagues from the graduate programs. They were greeted by Dr. Nasser Taleb, Head of the MITGOV program, Dr. Elgilani Elshareif, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, and Dr. Davide Contu, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Management. As part of the orientation session, students were able to meet the Student Affairs team, the Learning Resource Centre team, as well as the Career services and Internship team.

CUD FOM Research Seminar Series Monday, May 31, 2021: Dr. Saida Harguem, Assistant Professor, Canadian University Dubai, participated in the Faculty of Management’s (FOM) research seminar series and presented her research paper entitled “A Conceptual Framework on IT Governance Impact on Organizational Performance: A Dynamic Capability Perspective” that was recently published in the Academic Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies, a Scopus indexed journal.

From Canadian University Dubai to the University of New Brunswick, Canada: A chat with Bhaanvi Rai Wednesday, April 14, 2021: Through our established partnerships with a range of Canadian higher education institutions, students at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) can choose to transfer the credits they earn at CUD to complete their degree in Canada. We caught up with one of our students, Bhaanvi Rai, who recently made this decision. She completed her first year of university education in 2020 with the Faculty of Management, achieving 30 credits that were successfully transferred to her current Bachelor's degree program at the University of New Brunswick (UNBC).

Dr. Naveed Yasin co-authors with CUD student, Ms. Gayatri Nair, on a study accepted for presentation at a prestigious Canadian conference in 2021 Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020: Ms. Gayatri Nair, a third-year undergraduate marketing student at CUD, in collaboration with her professor, Dr. Naveed Yasin (Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship) from the Faculty of Management, jointly conducted an exploratory study on gamification and GSRS in student learning in enterprise education at the Canadian University Dubai.
CUD professor flips research approach for more practical, relevant, engaging, and effective teaching and learning using a framework that echoes the North American Universal for Design for Learning (UDL) principles. Dr Naveed Yasin, CUD’s Associate Professor, Faculty of Management, applies ‘teaching-informed research,’ a flipped approach to research that results in research being informed by pedagogy rather than pedagogy being informed by research. Within the field of enterprise and entrepreneurship/business management education, the purpose is to achieve more practical and relevant teaching and learning.
