CUD Students Visit Germany | Crossing Borders | International Logistics Project
Mannheim, Germany, November 20th – 27th, 2022: The Duale Hochschule Baden Württemberg (DHBW) in Mannheim, Germany, in partnership with Canadian University Dubai (CUD), Dubai, United Arab Emirates, sponsored by the Baden-Wuerttemberg Trust – collaborate to advance student exchanges through the International Logistics Projects (ILP). The exchanges promote and advance the integrated academic studies within industrial workplace programs, inclusive of the ILP initiatives, and have taken place over five phases since 2019. Recently, a team of CUD students, together with professors, visited Germany.

Canadian University Dubai signs student transfer agreement with Trent University

A new paradigm in spiritual tourism marketing
Thursday, November 4, 2021: Travellers from diverse backgrounds have been pursuing spiritually-motivated tourism for centuries, yet the term only entered the commercial travel dictionary much more recently. Interest in religion and spirituality seems to have awakened following the terrible events of 9–11. The subsequent so-called wars on terror, along with various global crises, have further motivated people to join religious organizations, or otherwise enrich their spiritual lives by visiting sacred sites and destinations.
CUD collaborates on consortium research: training during the COVID‑19 lockdown
Thursday, October 28, 2021: Canadian University Dubai continues to expand its collaborative research efforts with the recent work of Dr. Leonardo Mataruna Dos Santos, Associate Professor, Sports Management. His article entitled “Training During the COVID‑19 Lockdown: Knowledge, Beliefs, and Practices of 12,526 Athletes from 142 Countries and Six Continents” has gained traction globally as a consortium research piece with 105 contributing specialists.

CUD research reveals impact of COVID-19 on tourists’ luxury spending
Tuesday, October 26, 2021: Research undertaken by a team from Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has revealed the dramatic impact of COVID-19 on luxury spending among tourists travelling into and out of Dubai. The study demonstrates a notable retreat from the purchase of premium goods as consumers reacted to international travel restrictions and concerns about long-term financial security.
CUD alumnus represents UAE at 85th General Assembly of IEC
Monday, October 25, 2021: Engineer Mohammed Hasan, Canadian University Dubai (CUD) alumnus, was one of four national participants selected to represent the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of the Young Professional’s Program at the 85th General Assembly of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) that occurred Oct. 3 – 7, 2021 at Dubai World Trade Centre. He successfully won the Asia and the Middle East seat and will be working with the IEC this year.
CUD study reveals muted market response to COVID-19 vaccine announcements
Sunday, October 24, 2021: A study conducted by graduate students at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has revealed a muted response from the stock markets following the historic announcements on the COVID-19 vaccine programs in late 2020. The research found that, despite months of economic turmoil, the news that the world had been waiting to hear prompted some growth in both US and UK markets, but there was no indication of the dramatic surge that might signal confidence in the future outlook.
CUD Student and UAE paracycling coach sets sights on Paris 2024
Tuesday, October 12, 2021: Following an historic first outing at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games, Emirati paracycling coach, Mohammed Al Murawwi Al Blooshi, says he has already set his sights on Paris 2024. As he begins preparing his team for the all-important qualifying events, Mohammed has another milestone to pursue before the next games, as he aims to be among the first graduates of the Canadian University Dubai (CUD) sports management degree program.
New MBA students welcomed as part of MBA orientation session
Sunday, September 19, 2021: New MBA students were welcomed as part of the MBA orientation session hosted at City Walk campus, Canadian University Dubai (CUD). The students had the chance to meet fellow colleagues from the graduate programs. They were greeted by Dr. Nasser Taleb, Head of the MITGOV program, Dr. Elgilani Elshareif, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, and Dr. Davide Contu, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Management. As part of the orientation session, students were able to meet the Student Affairs team, the Learning Resource Centre team, as well as the Career services and Internship team.
