Wednesday, April 14, 2021: Through our established partnerships with a range of Canadian higher education institutions, students at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) can choose to transfer the credits they earn at CUD to complete their degree in Canada. We caught up with one of our students, Bhaanvi Rai, who recently made this decision. She completed her first year of university education in 2020 with the Faculty of Management, achieving 30 credits that were successfully transferred to her current Bachelor's degree program at the University of New Brunswick (UNBC).

Some of the topics analyzed included; how global brands deal with a crisis and protect their reputation, how academic theories help agencies develop their strategies, and how brands should manage these situations internally.

Also presented were recent research results that fit into Dr. Parent-Lamarche's research program, as well as practical advice and implications.

Incentivizing acceptability of climate change mitigation measures and adoption of low carbon lifestyles in the Gulf region

Climate change poses major risks for Gulf countries, potentially affecting their food security, water processing, and public health to an alarming extent, in a region where temperatures are already critically high. These countries have been undergoing an exponential economic and population growth, accompanied by a sustained growth in Greenhouse Gas emissions. To curb climate change, besides switching towards an energy mix with less fossil fuels, it is urgent to foster low-carbon lifestyles amongst the residents: for instance, in terms of transportation and energy consumption.

A research paper by Dr. Firuz Kamalov, Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, Applied Science Technology at Canadian University Dubai, in collaboration with Dmitry Denisov of Deloitte/Careem, on finding a solution to deal with imbalanced data using the Gamma distribution was published in the leading AI journal, Knowledge-Based Systems.

Canadian University Dubai Interior Design students earn spot at international design competition

September 22, 2020: CUD students Manal Alzantuti and Riam Franz from the Bachelor of Science in Interior Design earned one of the nine finalist spots at the Accor Design Awards 2020 ‘Reinterpret the Orient Express’. Both students were invited to attend the virtual workshops and award ceremony in Accor Hotels Paris headquarters.

September 22, 2020: Faisal AlMahyawi and Somaya Abdul Muhsin from CUD's Bachelor of Architecture program earned one of the ten finalist spots for the School of Thought - School Redefines Learning competition in Toronto, Canada. They were awarded with People's Choice Award and the project was shortlisted to be published by the editorial team as part of UNI’s Yearbook Series 3 (2020 – 2021).
